Questions about building a quail pen?
Hello everyone. plans to build a quail pen Im quail to continue to dog training. I wondered whether it was a good idea to build the pen without a floor, so the quail can be on the floor. My only concern with this would be fire ants. Ive heard that fire ants can be a problem for quail, especially when they lie. Should I use on the ground and the use of wire mesh to the floor, or will be allowed on the field?
I would say that depends on the size of the pen. It is large enough, then you really do not need a floor. If you go to build a small enclosure, however, would a wire mesh bottom up, and have a surface that contra-plated at his feet. I have a friend who keeps in a barn. It has a lid on it about 7 feet tall. Is it big enough for us to walk, but the quail are not difficult to catch, actually quite calm. They come a running when he brings his bucket of food. So I do not know if this is typical behavior something you want to train your dog or not. Once, some of them loose and I went up to the gallery, which blew under a bush, and fear ยง h!
