Two sides of same coin, united in an indissoluble bond. This study, however, try to measure the psychological profile on both sides from carefully selected representative samples, and offers some suggestions for the recruitment of certain criminal law enforcement.
Method and initial results
The personality traits and work attitudes of 108 people convicted of assault (GBH or ABH) and 96 police officers authorized to carry arms have been compared with a series of personality measures, including the Zuckerman-Kuhlman Personality Questionnaire (ZKPQ) Article 30 of the book values of inventory and multiple-choice sentence completion tasks.

The results have implications for theoretical and practical sense. The former, as personality profiles in this study could be used as a criterion in the selection process for future applicants, the latter, because it provides empirical evidence to support five alternatives Zuckerman factor models of personality.
work values and attitudes
The two sections of World Vision were very similar with both groups show the need for clearly defined objectives, the ability to plan own work, and react quickly to situations involving high risk premises. Both groups without But avoiding the follow close working practices and rigid, and demonstrated a low tolerance for boredom and interference.
Although values factor analysis in inventories of work in general which have been put into question the Herzberg two factor theory of job satisfaction, this study provides much evidence to support. Two underlying dimensions were identified clearly in both populations and focused on external internal motivators. The results indicate that both groups were more likely to be motivated by internal needs such as achievement, success, recognition etc., rather than external aspects such as security employment or company policies. These results, together with responses to different points of World Vision, highlighting how closely approximate the two populations.
sentence completion

The answers are supposed to provide information on attitudes, beliefs, motivation, U.S. mental or otherwise. In this research, however, the task of completing sentences provided incomplete sentences with a limited number of possible endings. example

Leaving home, I made sure I that took my .. (Phone, credit card, dog, water, iPod)
By adopting this approach, the emphasis was placed on the similarity of response that the content and the results suggest that this technique could provide a useful contribution to the selection process. Both samples tend to choose same words and some of the selections were more revealing, for example, the risk, silence, darkness, dogs, etc.
Provisional conclusions
With a brutal drug culture and cons of gun crime to flourish in some of Britain's poorest communities, imaginative and robust solutions are needed to combat gang crime. The results provide strong evidence for the recruitment of certain offenders active roles in the armed wing of the police. To use a football metaphor, the transfer could be a team that probably still has a bit more support at home. Upon payment of its debt with society, many ex-offenders respond positively to the demands of work and should involve, and their new colleagues. In fact, recent events suggest that some Recruitment has already taken place, but stressed the need for better training in anger management, restraint in using weapons in public places, and control effective disorderly crowd.
