Getting Started with Obedience Dog Training

Dog training gives you the opportunity to bond and become closer with your pet. The more you train you pet, the more that it will be able to understand you better. Moreover, the more you play and work with your pet, the more you get to understand it and its needs. Bear in mind to always make puppy training an interesting and fun experience for your pet dog.

In previous times, dogs were bred in order to do certain tasks such as hunt birds and mammals, find rodents, herd sheep and work with firemen. Today, a lot of dogs are left with barely anything to do during the entire day. This would make them lonely and bored. When this occurs, they may bark, dig and chew excessively, or they may tend to sleep all day long which is definitely not good for them. Obedience training for your dog will give your pet something to do and aids largely in building its confidence.

A lot of people will develop inclination towards your pet if it is behaving very well. Through obedience training, your dog can become a good citizen.

Dog training is also a fun endeavor. You may get to take your pet out in public places and meet other pets and make new friends. Both you and your pet will get some exercise and both can learn new tricks that are enjoyable to show to everyone. When your friends pay you a visit, they will find joy hanging out with your pet dog.

It must be your first objective to keep your pet happy while it is in the process of learning. Train it for short duration of time. For some people, that would take about half an hour, but there are others who do this for only about 15 minutes. Stop the training while you pet is still interested. You may resume to your dog training later in the day.

Working with your pet while you are feeling good must be your second goal. If you begin to feel tired or frustrated, stop and instead play with your pet instead.

When it is time to begin with your dog training program, the first major concept that you have to learn is patience. If the owner is patient, the pet will be very happy to learn all sorts of things. Patience would imply that you are able to wait coolly for things to take place.
